College Graduation – May 9, 2012

I officially graduated from college in December, but I walked a week ago in the local ceremony.
It was a bit of a frustrating battle getting the cap and gown lined up, but I was ready to go!

I walked with 3 or 4 other Bachelor students, 2 of which I had a few classes with when I was still attending in town.

The ceremony went well. I didn’t trip! When I had collected my diploma and walked back across the stage, and paused for a photo op, I looked out at my family and grinned. When I turned away, I realized my coworker was grinning at me right next to them. I half turned back around and laughed when I saw her.

We filed out for a reception, and I was too distracted to eat any food. There were many people that I wished could be there, but also many who were that I had not been expecting that I appreciated seeing

I am so thankful for the support of all my loved ones, especially C, my parents, and my boss who helped push me on when I didn’t want to keep going.

Boy, does it feel awesome to be done!

My Birthday Post – 2 Months Late!

I wasn’t thrilled to be working on my birthday, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. I love my coworkers and they made it an enjoyable day, like most work days The coworker I wasn’t working with that day came in and brought me these potted flowers! COLOR in the middle of winter!

And she brought donuts!!

My boss bought a German chocolate cake which was divine!

As a St. Patrick’s Day baby, I grew up with lots of green food on my birthday (which I adored ) and the tradition had to continue with our favorite mint cookies.

After work, we did a quick (like 2 minute) photoshoot in breezy, cold sunshine.

And then we headed to dinner

To the Mermaid Cafe we went, and ended up with a pizza. I watched the sun starting to set after we were done, so I dropped C off at home and headed back to the beach for a lovely birthday sunset!

It was a treat!! I expected the northern lights that night as well, but that did not pan out. It was still a great day

Neighborhood Geese

These are geese that live around our home….and they seem to have free reign of the whole neighborhood! They have provided me with a bit of entertainment in the past few months!

They are a bit of a hazard in the road, but this is a sleepy enough town that it’s not a big deal.

Aurora Borealis – March 8, 2012

March 8 resulted in an incredible aurora display. March 6′s display was fairly consistent, and lovely. March 8′s was an awesome storm of power, and then fizzled into not much. It was incredible Here it is at the beginning of the evening, looking over the Bay. Not too much visible to the naked eye yet.

And then it hit! What an incredible sight. I stared in awe!

Peeking Green…

Today was a bit less stressful at work, but it is obvious that summer is starting. The amount of people has suddenly jumped up, and it will continue to do so every day. I’m ready for summer, but not the tourists! (Are we ever ready? Lol)

Playing fetch in the Bay

It rained today. I thiiiiink it rained in April, but I’m not sure. But it was definitely one of the first time it rained in months. Our winter was rather nice in one way simply because instead of raining, it snowed. The snow was obnoxious, but I’d rather have more snow than rain in the winter. Rain just makes everything slippery and a mess.

So today, it poured for several hours straight. And I was drawn out shooting in the yard, looking for new green growth covered in water drops! I have missed taking droplet photos Bring on the summer flowers!

It hasn’t been sunny in a few days and I’m missing the sunshine, but today’s rain was lovely. I’m looking forward to seeing the green start to pop a bit more now that we’ve finally had some new moisture (lots of melting snow though).

What is that green stuff in the woods?!
