About
About Michelle
I was born and raised in the Homer, Alaska area and my husband was as well. We decided that this is home and do not plan to leave. I love the outdoors, especially the beach, which is evident in many of my photos. I am addicted to chocolate and cookie dough ice cream. I occasionally write on my personal blog and you are welcome to take a peek at it!
About Photography
I have always been intrigued by photography, ever since my parents bought me an inexpensive film camera for my 10th birthday. As I grew older, and discovered digital, my photography improved. It was not until about 2008 that I really started to seriously look into photography. However, when Spring 2009 rolled around, I finally started to understand what really makes a photograph great and how to play with the settings on my camera. I started experimenting and learning from all the resources available online to teach me.
Once I felt that I was starting to get a grasp on the basics of true photography, my husband bought me my first DSLR for my birthday. It was definitely one of the best purchases we have ever made. I am never without it, dragging it with me nearly wherever I go. If I don't have it, I will undoubtedly miss a shot. I am continually adding new pieces of equipment to my bag, and am continually looking to improve. Since my start as a photographer, I have taken a couple of local photography classes to increase my skills.
About the Images
I currently shoot with a Canon Rebel XS. In the near future, I plan to upgrade to a Canon 5D Mark II. I process my shots in Adobe Photoshop CS5.
